![]() Made famous by Jack White of the White Stripes. Airline brand guitars were a Montgomery Wards brand instrument made by Kay, Harmony and Valco. We’ve recreated these and other 1960’s Chicago classics for a new generation of. VALCO also manufactured National and Supro brands. Airline® Guitars were made in Chicago, Illinois from 1958-68 by the VALCO company, and distributed by Montgomery Ward. The pickguard material leads me to think it was made in the early to mid 1960′, as by 1968 or 1969 they switched to black pickguards. The serial number is not visible on this guitar so there’s no way to date it precisely. And the typical Harmony glue drops! This, folks, is genuine hide glue (a 1500$ upcharge at the Martin Custom Shop nowadays). ![]()
